Let's Focus on Bringing Fun into our Workouts!

 

Week 4: REPLAY

Working out doesn't have to be something you dread. Let's put the fun back into our weekly activities with some unusual "moves", by trying something new, or maybe even playing a game that you haven't tried since you were a kid (tag, anyone?)

 

According to the National Institute for Play,

 

"Play is the gateway to vitality. By its nature it is uniquely and intrinsically rewarding. It generates optimism, seeks out novelty, makes perseverance fun, leads to mastery, gives the immune system a bounce, fosters empathy and promotes a sense of belonging and community."

REPLAY Mini-Challenge

Your REPLAY mini-challenge this week focuses us bringing fun into our workout and into our lives. PIck at least one day this week to just play -- laugh, dance, play a game from childhood -- whatever brings fun and joy into your life. And then post all your fun and craziness in the RESET Challenge Facebook group.  

 

Looking for Play ideas?

  • We've compiled a list of fun ideas that might bring back a few childhood memories (I remember doing #19 with my sisters, but be careful "Marcia Brady"! And one of my sister's favorite was #13).

  • Watch this video from our Day Camp kids playing a version of #23.

  • Check out this article for ways to make exercise time feel more like play time.

 

Next Steps:

1) Keep scheduling and doing your 150 minutes of movement.

2) Get in your daily servings of fruits and veggies.

3) Continue to connect with people you haven't spoken to lately.

4) Pick your REPLAY day, pick your fun activity, and post to the Facebook group what you did!

5) Visit the RESET Challenge Facebook group for additional tips, tools and to make new connections with other participants. Let's support each other on this journey!

Dr. Dance Virtual Dance Party

 

Ready to dance? Join us Thursday evening for the largest virtual dance party ever! Dr. Dance is a worldwide phenomenon and he's throwing a special dance party just for RESET participants.

 

I know all our Groove Together regular class members are in, but we want everyone to join in the fun. It doesn't matter if you can't dance. It's virtual - you can dance in your own living room like no one is watching!

FRIDAY: 5AM TO 8PM
SATURDAY: 7AM TO 7PM
SUNDAY: 12PM TO 5PM
